Commentary On Evasion

This is our piece of commentary regarding our opening sequence. In this short video we as a group talk about our intro and opening credit and why we have used angles, shot, music, special effects etc and therefore effect we wanted to create. we also spoke about our final thoughts on our piece and evaluated it further.

Slideshow of Shoot

Here is the Slideshow of images I took for shooting on a Cannon eD05. i used phototshop CS3 to turn the images black and white.

Storyboard

Below is our storyboard, this we believe is very effective as it allowed us to plan and think out our idea for the film before we started to get the cameras out which is a big relief as i didnt have to carry carry it all along to a set location. which just saved a lot of time. we used a various amount of different camera angles and shots with a Cannon eD05 Camera. From there we went back to my the laptop and we decide which shots looked more effective and then how this could all fit into a thriller mystery. i also thought along the line of how we were to represent our character thought the genre.

We presented this on Powerpoint and the music is Calvin Harris's I'm not alone. which i was able to put together using Sony Vegas 8.

Prelimary Exersice - The Glare

Here is my Prelimary Exersice, which i have decided to call The Glare. along the idea of this creature like charcter watching the 2 girls. also the dialogue has illustrated this atmosphere.
i have used a range of Camera Shots, mostly medium however close ups too, to show the tension.
Here is the Piece.

Started Filming

A cople of weeks ago, we started filmig for our main exercise, i as director, editer and cameraman, thought it went really well and everything which we wrote about in our risk assesment and plan went as we wanted it too.
We were also lucky to have more techniques and things happening than we planed on the shoot e.g. a helicopter and the general public. all of these i have incorperated.
All things are good!

OCR A Level Media Studies AS Preliminary Exercise

The “Prelimary Exersice” from the new 2008 OCR specification.

Here we’ve taken a simple sequence matching the brief, included a variety of shot sizes, angles and most importantly we’ve made it a continuous sequence with dialogue at the end. The second version is just to illustrate that it doesn’t need to be dry and boring, and it might be a good opportunity to experiment with genre since your main piece of coursework will total 50% of your grade.Honestly though, we just fancied messing around with the cameras for an hour or two. One of the versions are quite long and don’t need to be, good editing would speed things up without losing sense of continuity.

The Links to the videos I shall post in my next blog.
